Project Description
Coloplast uses a rolling forecast process to create a five-quarter outlook for the business. As the company has grown through organic expansion and acquisitions, forecasting has become increasingly complex, and maintaining forecast accuracy and consistency has become more challenging.

This project will investigate how data-driven forecasting approaches can strengthen forecast accuracy, transparency and usability within a selected business area. The student(s) will evaluate current forecasting practices, analyse historical sales and forecast data, and explore alternative analytical approaches that could support better planning and decision-making.

The project may include statistical forecasting methods, machine learning techniques or hybrid approaches that combine analytical models with business judgement. The aim is not to automate forecasting for the sake of it, but to understand where more structured analytics could add value while preserving the transparency, explainability and management ownership that are critical to financial planning. The expected outcome is a practical set of insights and recommendations for how Coloplast could continue to improve its forecasting capabilities.
