About the department
At Coloplast, you will join 28 experienced and engaged colleagues in Corporate Procurement at our HQ in Humlebæk. Here, you will be part of the Direct Procurement team consisting of Category Mangers and report directly to the Head of Category Management for Direct Spend, Corporate Procurement. You will join a team consisting of 6 highly skilled Category Managers and supported by corporate functions such as Lead negotiators, Partnership Managers for pipeline projects. We work closely with our procurement colleagues located in Hungary, Costa Rica, and China. Here, you will play a key role in our continued efforts to bring value to the organization.

 

The position
As Category Manager your primary focus is to drive and execute commercial and strategic aspects of assigned suppliers within specific categories of raw materials feeding into our global production footprint. We strive to be valued partners for the business, always taking their needs and input into account when seeking solutions and opportunities with our external suppliers. Your main responsibilities will be to:

 

•    Source, negotiate, and optimize cost for your suppliers. This includes working closely with the line of business such as in R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Product Support to define business requirements, diligently evaluate cost drivers, and be responsible for supplier selection processes.
•    Be responsible for strategic supplier relationships, including facilitating Business Reviews with your suppliers, and driving the yearly category planning process within the category.
•    Work with development and implementation of the strategic direction setting for the categories including sourcing activities and other strategic initiatives for your suppliers.
•    Update and ensure the appropriate contractual terms and conditions are in place with your suppliers to ensure continuous improvement, seamless supply, and quality at the most optimal conditions.
•    Conduct relevant change-management activities to ensure that your results are anchored in the organization.
•    Manage the needs and expectations of your stakeholders to obtain results with our suppliers, while ensuring compliance with procurement standards in alignment with the category strategy.
•    Lead or participate in ad hoc projects, strategic initiatives, and planning activities within Corporate Procurement.

 

Qualifications
The right candidate for us is someone with a foundation in Procurement, stakeholder-minded, and with a strong commercial acumen. You will be working cross-functionally with a wide array of stakeholders on multiple levels where you represent the commercial agenda and owner of the supplier relationship. 


We expect you to be able to grasp the details, while maintaining the bigger strategic picture. Moreover, you think both innovatively and can take the lead in commercial activities where required. With your result-driven approach, you like to challenge the status quo using your curiosity and excitement.

 

Furthermore, we imagine that you: 
•    Are structured, data driven, and can convert information into a clear communication to stakeholders at multiple levels, verbally as well as in presentation format
•    Have a strategic mindset and plans for the future
•    Great stakeholder management skills
•    Have solid negotiation skills and contract knowledge with a proven track record of results
•    Have category management experience 
•    Potentially already have a background with sourcing of raw materials
•    Hold a relevant master’s degree, e.g. Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or similar
•    Are proficient in English both written and verbally
•    Have the ability to travel up to 25 travel days per year
