Data Privacy Manager (m/f/d)
Hamburg, HH, DE
Do you believe in the importance of data privacy, and would you like to join a company that takes this responsibility seriously?
Then join us in this newly established role, where you will be backed by a cohesive team spirit both locally and globally.
“In Coloplast, we have the will and the reputation for doing things right. We don’t believe in taking shortcuts and have a desire to always build sustainable compliance solutions. And now, you can be part of that,” explains Head of Compliance, Region Europe Heine Husted Hansen.
Welcome to our compliance community.
You will be part of the very experienced EU compliance team, which consists of 5 compliance experts who work together from different locations across Europe. One is working from the Hamburg office, where you will likewise be based.
Here, you will also be greeted by the local legal team welcoming you to a very collaborative environment. Moreover:
“You can look forward to collaborating with compliance colleagues in the US, Europe, and APEC countries e.g. on privacy compliance requests. All in all, you’ll join a truly international environment,” Heine concludes.
Ensure that our customers and end-users’ data remains private and protected.
Acting as our subject matter expert, you will be responsible for data privacy in the EU region as well as in our emerging markets across the globe. As such, you will make sure that GDPR rules as well as any local data privacy requirements are always observed and adhered to. Just as you will ensure that our customers' and users’ data is protected in the best way possible.
Doing so, you will be spending your time familiarising yourself with legislation and ensuring that we have the right processes in place. You are also ready to drop whatever you might be working on to handle data breaches, should they occur.
In addition, you can look forward to:
- Providing input to the Corporate Business Ethics & Data Privacy function’s setting of strategy and action plans
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining incident response and data breach notification
- Preparing reports and management information
- Coordinating and providing guidance, assessments and training related to data protection
- Conducting internal and external data privacy audits, reviews, impact and readiness assessments
- Serve as point of contact for external interaction related to data protection, incl. submission of registrations to applicable data protection agencies/authorities in the EU region, acting as the local DPO for the German subsidiary
This job will likely also take you travelling 10-15 days per year.
You know data privacy – and how to build relationships.
As you will be advising others on this area, it is important that you know how to build solid relationships and create buy-in, just as you will need to know how to navigate a global and cross-functional setting.
You know when to stand your ground, and your analytical prowess and problem-solving abilities enable you to make quick decisions and find practical solutions. Also, you have great time management skills which enable you to prioritise tasks and multitask effectively in our sometimes fast-paced environment.
We also imagine that you have:
- At the minimum a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and relevant certification(s) in Data Privacy
- An interest in business metrics and operations
- A few years of experience working with data protection compliance and advising others on data privacy legislation and handling
- Knowledge of data protection requirements within the markets of the EU region, particularly relating to GDPR, breach notification, and cross-border data transfer
- Knowledge of IT, web, and mobile ecosystems and their privacy and data use implications and risks
- Fluent in German and English in speaking and writing - any other European language is a nice-to-have
Benefits – we offer:
Flexible working hours incl. Home-Office arrangement, attractive social benefits (for example company pension scheme), Company Bike leasing, Company Fitness via EGYM-Wellpass, a company restaurant with its own cook and more
