Toolshop Leader

The Toolshop Leader is responsible for leading the toolshop, creating all the toolshop procedures, documentation safety procedures and training plans for all the Toolmaker Technicians.
Additionally, is responsible for designing the correct machine layout of the workshop, making sure there is a correct material flow, finish goods and raw material for all the machines in the shop.
He/She is responsible of reviewing and defining all priorities with the Toolmaker Technicians based on the production needs and the urgency of finish products, also he/she will make sure to maintain the necessary inventory of raw materials and tools for the manufacturing of parts, to contact the suppliers, review materials specifications, make sure the material purchased complies with the material certificate and to the Coloplast Standards.
The Toolshop Leader will define and track the budget for the toolshop, making sure it-covers the raw material, tools, safety equipment and all things needed for the toolshop operation.
The Toolshop Leader will make sure all equipment is calibrated on time and will make sure it won’t interfere with the daily tasks. Also, the toolshop leader will lead the Toolmaker Technicians in the manufacturing process of all parts, will make sure all quality records are filed under the correct folder so that it can be traceable over time.
This person is responsible of making sure all toolshop employees follow the procedures and the EHS procedures to ensure people safety and equipment safety, also will approve or reject all drawing changes requested.
The Toolshop Leader will analyze all proposed designs for new and improvement projects as well as the safety projects, making sure parts are manufacturable and helping the Improvement Engineers and Production Support Engineers on design the correct part that fulfills the needs of the project and are able to be manufactured in the toolshop.
Quite important: Must be familiar with the processes and able to operate the department's machines independently (at least some), as the role includes not only managing the department but also hands-on operational tasks.
Your challenge:

Define the manufacturing process of all parts along with the Toolmaker Technician.

Make sure to manufacture all parts according to the toolshop production plan.

Verify that the toolshop measurement equipment is in good condition and with the latest calibration records.

Verify and track the process of the different work orders, time control and close the orders.

Create and approve all drawings for new or old spare parts that do not exist in EPDM or vault if necessary.

Verify new processes and materials that are required in the workshop.

Make sure to repair or replenish tools and parts needed for the manufacturing process of parts.

Analise all proposed designs for new and improvement projects and EHS projects, making sure parts are manufacturable and helping the Improvement Engineers on design the correct part that fulfills the needs of the project and can be manufactured in the toolshop.

Ensuring the operation of workshop machinery, detecting failures and provide troubleshooting.

Making sure all maintenance activities are carried out on time according to schedule

Monitoring the stock of cooling/lubricating fluids, cutting tools and raw material ensuring its availability at all time.

Verify the correct disposal of hazardous waste and recycling materials

Responsible for creating all safety regulations necessary to work in the area.

Provide personal protection equipment for workshop technicians and for visitors

Responsible for managing the toolshop technicians.

Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given

Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines

Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system

Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position
Here is what you need to succeed:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineer is a plus.

Minimum Technical Course in Mechanics with 5-7 years with relevant experience
-
Professional experience in tool making
-
Experience operating machines such as CNC, bandsaw, conventional lathe, conventional milling machine, and drilling machine.

Knowledge of 3D Printing Machines
-
Good people management skills
-
English Level: A1 – Communicational level (base on the scale of the Common European Framework)

Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office
-
Advanced knowledge on technical drawing software like AutoCad, Inventor or Solidworks
-
Advance knowledge on technical machining software like Edgecam or Mastercam
-
Advance knowledge on on Fanuc systems
-
Able to work independently and responsibly
-
Able to read and understand technical drawings
-
Advance knowledge of GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

Good problem-solving skills
-
Knowledge in conventional Milling machine, lathe machine and griding machine 3 axis CNC programming
-
Keeps work with a high-level 5S culture
