Supply Chain Transfer Coordinator

The Supply Chain Transfer Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting and leading supply chain projects and managing machine transfer processes for a new production site. This position involves close collaboration with sending and receiving sites, ensuring smooth transitions of raw materials.

 


Major Areas of Accountability: 

 

Material Supply & Transfer Coordination 

  • Ensure the supply of raw materials and packaging for machine/item transfers. 
  • Develop and establish effective communication and supply processes with sending sites. 
  • Conduct regular meetings to monitor progress and assess risks. 
  • Calculate the startup kit requirements for new machine items being transferred. 
  • Provide timely data for the procurement of new items. 
  • Place orders for direct supply from vendors as needed. 
  • Collaborate with material planners to agree on safety stock levels. 
  • Support new item launches, coordinating internally and externally to meed deadlines. 

 

On-Site Validation Activities 

  • Support global and local transfer teams by ensuring raw materials are ready for use during key validation stages. 
  • Coordinate with the warehouse to prepare validation materials. 
  • Work with the Value Stream Planner to release work orders for validation runs (Run-In, OQ, PQ). 
  • Track jointly with SMP the safety stock buildup for each machine being transferred. 
  • Establish communication channels with suppliers and gather key purchasing data (MOQ, lead time, etc.) 
  • Provide recommendations for implementing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) or consignment programs. 

 

Master Data Creation 

  • Coordinate with MD the creation of BOMs, routings, and other related master data to ensure accurate ERP modeling of raw material requirements. 
  • Collaborate with global supply chain transfer specialists to ensure BOM accuracy. 
  • Update master data as needed to reflect accurate dates and routes. 

 

Global Transfer Project Support 

  • Actively participate in global transfer projects, taking ownership of assigned actions. 
  • Track and manage Change Controls (CCs) related to item/machine transfers, ensuring all relevant materials are included. 
  • Monitor and address changes or discontinuations of raw materials for non-transferred items. 

 

Essential Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor´s degree in industrial engineering, materials, logistics, supply chain management, business administration or related field 
  • Experience: +5 years of experience in materials, supply chain management and manufacturing 
  • Experience: Experience in the medical device industry 
  • Certifications: CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent are a plus 
  • Language: Portuguese (as mother tongue or C2) & English (C1 or C2) 

 

Required Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and project management 
  • Proven ability to manage communication and collaboration across global teams 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Proficient with ERP systems; JD Edwards knowledge is a plus; proficient with MS Office, advanced user of MS Excel

  • Ability to work independently and drive results in complex projects. 
  • Travel required – up to 20% per year
