Production Valuestream Manager

The Value Stream Manager will have to lead, plan, control and coordinate all production activities within a Value Stream and ensure that products comply with regulations and company requirements.
Major Areas of Accountability:
Main task is to manage the production of the area’s product(s) and / or manage the area’s process with the given resources in line with the production plans, with the expected safety and quality, at the lowest cost level, work together with the technical department to ensure the correct functioning of the devices and the right technical condition. Planning the related processes and resources and implement Lean processes to achieve the highest utilization of the resources. Follow operational KPIs and define and implement action plans to improve.
The Value Stream Manager is responsible for keeping the fulfilment of all related instructions and standards in the area. Responsible for tracking the related materials and for finding the root cause of scrap and losses. He is responsible for keeping the area’s material handling equipment in a good condition – organize the change if needed.
In the initial phase, it will have an active role in ramping up the production.
This position will have a natural evolution as the initial phases of the start-up are completed and new requirements become needed.
Major areas of accountability – start-up phase of the organization

Participate in the selection and hiring of the employees of the team

Learn all the relevant processes (production and management) in the scope of the transfer

Work in close collaboration with the training team to ensure the correct training of the workers before the start-up, following up, on site, the training of the workers

Work in close collaboration with the local process owner to define the “way of working” for the Portuguese plant, ensuring a proper training in the processes that are different from the sending site

Document all the necessary activities following the group guidelines, assuring the success of the project and considering the validation needs

Support the validation activities, providing trained resources, all the relevant documentation and having the production floor prepared for the installation and start-up of the machines

Work with the commissioning team and actively participate in the project agreement definition for the machines that will be received on site

Hire human resources and assure team and shop floor preparation for the several waves of equipment’s transfer
After the start-up, the responsibilities will majorly be in the following tools or resources: people, technical, financial, processes and EHS.
People :

Ensure the most efficient given teams to maintain operations within the Value Stream (VS).

Plan and execute the people development focused on required competencies.

Scheduled frequent meetings / discussions with team members to inform and manage them.

Headcount planning and execution of actions.
-
Planning and execution of overtime according to the best interests of the company.
-
Comply and adhere to Coloplast standard procedures, as well as safety and EHS related rules.

Responsible for the creation of Job descriptions and Training plans of all direct reports

Responsible to request all necessary accesses and specific roles to Coloplast systems for direct reports
Technical resources:

Ensure the conditions of continuous growth of efficiency / effectiveness.

Close relation to technical department

Be involved in seting actions for issues /problems of equipments – execution / implementation.

Finding sustainable solutions via organizing and leading projects related to improvements.

Set SMART targets, follow up and manage the team to reach it (Scrap, Down-Time, inventory level, accuracy of bookkeeping, etc).

Financial resources:

Calculate and plan the resources of needed investments, expenses.

Making proposals for needed improvements Minimize cost, scrap and labor.

Follow up on production / storekeeping and maintenance related spending, reporting and forecasting.
Processes:

Compliance of production / storekeeping process

Find point of improvements in processes – execute the plan of improvement.

Cooperation with other departments, harmonizing processes for being more effective.

Management of risks associated to the sustainability of the operations.

Keeping area in safe, clean and in order – ready to produce.

Participation / organization of lay-out meetings
-
Compliance with EHS requirements: fire prevention /protection, safety, injury prevention/protection and environmental rules and legislations.
Essential Qualifications:
-
Relevant degree in Engineering, management or any related field (B. Sc. or higher)
-
Proven experience managing cross/functional teams and an organization larger than 200 collaborators including direct, indirect and support personnel.

Medical device experience preferred.
-
Experience improving manufacturing operations using Lean and Six Sigma techniques. Certification on Lean or Six Sigma is desirable.

Experience with MES or other system to track and analyze production operations.
Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with inventory management systems.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of PowerBI.

International experience or experience working with multinational companies

Experience with Oracle E1
