IT/OT Integration Engineer

 

We are looking for an IT/OT Integration Engineer to join our manufacturing site in Portugal (Felgueiras) and become a key player in the stability, integration, and digital evolution of our production systems.

 

In this role, you will work at the intersection of Manufacturing, OT, and IT, supporting daily operations while integrating global MES and OT solutions into a real, high-paced production environment. Will collaborate with Production, Engineering, IT, and Global OT teams, and have direct impact on efficiency, reliability, and digitalization of the plant.

 

This is a hands-on, on-site, high-impact role with exposure to modern industrial technologies, global projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

- Support and maintain manufacturing OT and MES systems
- Act as the local IT/OT integration reference for the production site
- Support Production Technicians and Process Engineers in daily operations
- Integrate new machines and production lines into existing OT/MES environments
- Participate in and drive IT/OT and digitalization projects, locally and globally
- Configure and support HMI systems, industrial networks, and OT switches
- Monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements
- Create documentation and deliver OT-related training to local teams

 

What We’re Looking For

- Background in Automation, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or similar
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial IT, or OT environments
- Strong hands-on experience with MES and OT systems
- Knowledge of SCADA / ICS systems (Rockwell)
- Understanding of industrial networks, servers, domains, and Active Directory
- Experience with FactoryTalk / RSLinx, OPC, SQL, Windows Server
- Comfortable working close to production and solving real-time issues
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
- Portuguese and English level B2 or higher
- Willingness to travel internationally (especially during the first year for training)

  • PLC knowledge (Rockwell / Siemens / Bechoff)
  • Cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001)
  • Virtualization (vSphere)
  •  CCNA or interest in networking
