Job function summary

The finance controller is a member of the finance department, where the main responsibilities are cost and price controlling, special focus on direct variable cost; lead role in internal/external reporting and planning and a sparring partner of the local organization in his area.

 

Major areas of accountability

  • Responsible for manufacturing accounting process of the site
  • Daily sparring partner for production organization (inventory controllers, value stream managers, material/production planners, etc.)
  • High knowledge in manufacturing processes, BOM structures, routing architectures
  • Analysis of manufacturing variances
  • Production settlement and reporting
  • Participation in month-end closing and preparation of monthly reporting, variance analysis
  • Financial support, monitoring of the stock-take process  
  • Drive cost price update yearly cycle process
  • Key role in quarterly forecast process related DVC cost planning
  • Cooperation with Business Centre, HQ controllers and other production sites
  • Support in local statutory reporting towards Tax Authority
  • Participate in development of enhanced reporting tools

 

Essential qualifications

  • Master’s degree required, preferable Accounting / Finance / Economics
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial controlling at a multinational manufacturing company
  • High level of English
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheet software and MS PowerPoint; BI reports

     

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle JDE Enterprise One is an advantage)
  • Experience in statutory accounting, reporting

  • Strong ability to understand how business operates
  • Experience working at manufacturing companies; to have an experience at a medical device manufacturing company is a plus
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Interpersonal and consultative skills to effectively interact at all levels
  • Team player
  • Creative and decisive problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to maintain/establish strong relationships across the organization.
