Ambitious and energetic EHS Manager for our pioneering Pilot Plant

It is our driving ambition to improve the lives of the people dependent on our medical products – but we also need to take proper care of our employees and of the environment. That is where you come in. Can you take the lead on instituting a multitude of EHS initiatives at our Pilot Plant? Then keep reading.

Take charge of EHS at our innovation hub
You will oversee Environment, Health, and Safety at our Pilot Plant in Espergærde, which is the staging ground for all our large-scale production. It is where we test new initiatives, processes, and equipment before it is implemented at our full-scale production units overseas. As such, the Pilot Plant is where our most cutting-edge technology and most inventive ideas are put to the test.

As EHS manager, you will be part of the larger Corporate EHS, coordinating and cooperating with EHS management from many of our international facilities in China, Costa Rica, Hungary etc. You will  work closely with the environment- and safety-representatives from each department within the Pilot Plant in Espergærde.

The means to really make an impact
We are fortunate in Coloplast, that we have the means to make EHS a priority, and EHS is an integrated part of our ambitious Strive 25 sustainability strategy anchored at the highest levels of the organisation. As such, you will have the resources available to actually drive new initiatives in making the plant more environmentally friendly and safer for our employees.

For example, you can expect to:

  • Initiate and supervise various projects within EHS, such as optimising production waste management, improving workplace safety, developing more sustainable work procedures etc.
  • Handle documentation and reporting with regards to workplace accidents, to ensure proper procedure and to prevent similar accidents in the future
  • Manage the EHS organisation, ensuring proper flow of information to all member therein, and that all representatives have their input heard
  • Manage the site’s environmental permit. This includes coordinating with Helsingør Municipality regarding environmental approvals for new processes or products, and ensuring compliance and documentation of noise levels, emissions, and other environmental requirements.

Ensuring sustainable scalability
Whatever innovate and creative EHS-solutions you come up with at the Pilot Plant will be amplified many times over when we implement them at our full-scale production facilities. As such, your hard work not only improves the workplace safety and reduces environmental impact at our local production line, it will also have positive ramifications throughout our global production lines. That is something you can be proud of.

Caring colleagues and focus on progression
We are an older company, but there is nothing archaic about the way we treat each other. The well-being of our employees is always front-of-mind at Coloplast, and there are no rigid hierarchies dictating who you can and cannot talk to.

That said we are still working on the transformation of the Pilot Plant in Espergærde from a volume facility to a true innovative pilot plant. With a high average seniority and a long history this doesn’t come by itself. We need to change our culture and you will be expected to take part in- and lead the EHS transformation on this journey.

What we expect from you
While we are not looking for any specific educational background, it is a plus if you have received further education, perhaps within engineering or chemistry, as some of the areas you will be working within are quite complex to comprehend.
Additionally, we would love to see:

  • Project management experience, possibly within pharma or medical tech, as you would then already be well versed in some of the EHS rules and regulations, that you will encounter
  • Experience of managing environmental permits in a production environment and experience of collaborating with health and safety authorities (Arbejdstilsynet)
  • Experience of auditing and managing EHS management systems to ISO 14001 and 45001 standards
  • Experience of proactive safety culture development
  • Determination and lots of energy, as you will be the driving force behind some of our most important projects and initiatives
  • An ability and willingness to engage in a highly dynamic and development-focused leadership group with many different stakeholders
  • Fluent written and spoken English, as you will be working closely with Global EHS.
