The Challenge
You will play a key role in driving efficiency and innovation within the Operations Development Department. As a dedicated specialist, you will lead initiatives to simplify and automate processes, ensuring that operational excellence is achieved.
This role requires close collaboration with various specialists to identify and implement opportunities for machine improvements, focusing on critical areas such as quality, scrap reduction, performance optimization and the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
You will also have a key role in the ramp-up and transfer of the production from other sites to Felgueiras.
What You will Do:
- Carrying out, organising and managing the daily technical and technological development tasks within the Operations Development Department:
- Developing and introducing new technologies, mapping existing technologies and expanding and documenting related knowledge;
- Suggest improvements to increase the availability of machinery and increase automation levels;
- Participate in projects to reduce scrap, to increase productivity of equipment and processes, improve safety and to contribute to production equipment modernisation
- Transfer of electrical designs of production facilities to E-Plan;
- Give technical support for retrofit projects;
- Solve simple and complex everyday problems
- Plan and coordinate project activities, including software design, coding, testing, and deployment
- Liaising with external partners as required for technology development tasks
- Supporting the Operations Development Team in troubleshooting and ensuring the continued availability of the production/Machines
- Managing and coordinating projects relating to the development of PLC controlled production machines equipped with vision and robot systems
Your Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrotechnics or Automation Engineer or relevant academic background
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in similar position
- Experience in maintaining automated industrial machines
- Knowledge of PLC programming in at least one of the following technologies: RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, CX Programmer, Simatic Step 7, Sigma Drives, Kinetix, Accurax, Indramat, Elau, Trio.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical, mechanical);
- Able to install and uninstall electrical components;
- HMI knowledge is preferred;
- Knowledge of interpreting pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams is preferredProject knowledge and experience is a plus
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken, in English. Level: B1 – Intermediate
Timing:
- Expected start in April 2025
- Workplace will be in Felgueiras, Portugal
- In the first year, there will be extended stays in Hungary for training purposes
