Supplier Quality Engineer

This is a permanent-full time position to work in our Cartago site, located in Zona Franca La Lima. 1 day of remote work per week, medical insurance, asociation, gym, cafeteria subsidy, free transportation and other, are part of our benefits package

 

Or Supplier Quality Engineer supports with supplier related quality activities and ensure quality control of raw material supply to the production. Is responsible for making sure that the raw material suppliers conform to the specification / certificates, ensuring incoming control of raw materials, and documenting the necessary requirements in the process.

 

Major areas of accountability

  • Implement and improve the control activities for direct and indirect purchased raw materials for Cartago site
  • Control the documentation of the raw materials approving and checking
  • Continuous communication with the production, supply chain and the suppliers
  • In case of defects ensure that the activities are in compliance with procedures and instructions.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the implemented quality system.
  • Ensure registration and analysis of incoming statistical data based on requirements.
  • In case of statistical trend or failure in goods, ensure to put in place the right failure analysis and corrective/preventive action. Participation in root cause analysis in regards raw materials.
  • Manage the complaint handling processes with suppliers. Follow up the actions from suppliers and participate in the improvement/corrective programs lead by SQM (Supplier Quality Management)
  • Participate and represent the Incoming process activities in both internal and external audit.
  • Conduct external audits at supplier (including follow up on audit reports and actions).
  • Participate in new material introduction and purchasing projects, provide inputs for improvement of specifications and ensure that the site-specific quality requirements are implemented in the supplier’s contract.

 

Essential qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (materials, chemistry, industrial) or related career.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Microsoft office package, SharePoint or ERP.
  • English (minimum B2 level) reading, writing, and speaking in a conversational level.


Preferred qualifications

  • Experience within medical device manufacturing.
