Junior Continuous Improvement Engineer

Job Function Summary:
The Junior Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for supporting and participating in improvement initiatives related to production and administrative processes by utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques. This role collaborates closely with the Continuous Improvement Engineer and Value Stream Manager to drive improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. The Junior Engineer contributes to 6S initiatives, assists in Kaizen events, helps standardize processes, and supports the implementation of metrics to track improvements and cost reductions. This position provides an opportunity to develop technical and problem-solving skills while gaining experience in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
Major Areas of Accountability:
• Work closely with the Value Stream Manager and Continuous Improvement team to support initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
• Assist in the initiation, implementation, and follow-up of continuous improvement projects under supervision.
• Participate in 6S initiatives to help ensure a strong foundation for stable manufacturing and improvements.
• Support Kaizen improvement events, Value Stream Mapping, and other Continuous Improvement activities, contributing to achieving project objectives within scope and timelines.
• Collaborate on the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices.
• Provide support in tracking annual operational targets and identifying opportunities for improvement to achieve those targets.
• Contribute to the development and monitoring of metrics supporting Lean Manufacturing philosophy to track process improvements and cost reductions.
• Assist in layout design improvements at both macro and micro levels to support efficient manufacturing processes
• Help identify inefficiencies within the system of Rapid Improvement Events and propose potential solutions.
• Support the creation of training materials and process documentation; participate in training activities as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or management.

Essential Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Materials, Electromechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
• 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, or related internships/co-op programs.
• English level B1
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
• Basic knowledge of Power BI, Power Apps, or other data analysis tools
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Prefer Qualifications
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification (in progress or completed) is a plus.
• Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.
• English level B2 or higher
• Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and data visualization platforms.
• Experience participating in Kaizen events, 6S activities, or process improvement projects.
