Facility Project Engineer

Job Function Summary:

The Facilities Project Engineer is responsible for execution of critical infrastructure/equipment retrofits to CAR facility, including planning, scheduling, cost management and closeout.  Also assist in the hiring and training of contractors, arrange their work schedules and work activities.  Facilities Project Engineer will be in close contact with Denmark Headquarters and Hungarian production sites to align standards and requirements for given projects since design stage to final commissioning.

Major Areas of Accountability:

Project management

  • Ensure facilities related projects are within schedule regarding cost and time, complying with Coloplast and local standards

  • Align with other Coloplast project managers or Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) the scope of the project

  • Communicate project progress and scope to stakeholders

  • Execute supervision of critical tasks

  • Overseeing contractors performing project activities

  • Assess local and external suppliers, look for the best supplier option for Coloplast

  • Manage projects budget and ensure healthy execution of it

  • Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints and reports

  • Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules

  • Collect equipment submittals, user manuals, infrastructure drawings and any important documentation as part of the project deliverables.

  • Comply with regulatory requirements


Management support

  • Provide support to the FEHS Manager on the cleaning, waste disposal, catering, security, parking and related activities of Coloplast CAR’s buildings.

  • Attend visitors or suppliers that need access to the site to provide services.

  • Quote services or goods necessary for maintenance/operation of the facility.

  • Check quality of work delivered by contractors

  • Align daily operational tasks with peers, other departments and any other stakeholders

  • Perform any task assigned by FEHS manager related to the activities of the company

  • Provide improvement ideas and suggestions for savings

  • Achieving indicators defined by management



  • Review and fulfil any regulatory or EHS documentation needed for the daily work.

  • Supervise safe execution of activities performed by contractors and ensure proper work permits are completed, approved, executed, closed, and archived.

  • Ensure to comply with and be responsible for enforcing work safety, and Coloplast values at all times.

  • Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given

  • Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines

  • Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system

  • Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position


Essential Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electromechanical, electrical engineering or related qualification. 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in roles that include building maintenance

  • Oriented to customer service and proactive (highly desired)

  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints

  • Knowledge on Cleanroom operation

  • Special works safety permits experience

  • English level: B2


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Proven experience as Project Engineer

  • Ability to manage a varied and complex workload

  • Problem-solving

  • Equipment maintenance knowledge (desirable)

  • Ability to lead technical teams

  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards

  • Communication and negotiation skills (required)

  • Good organizational and time-management skills

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office

  • Willing to go the ´´extra mile´´

  • High degree of flexibility

  • ´´Can do´´ attitude

  • Willing to live abroad for 6 months
