Clinical Specialist

As member of the Medical Affairs BeNeLux team you will provide scientific and medical information and be responsible for implementing projects aimed at improving the care pathway and optimizing patient care across the Coloplast Chronic Care therapeutic areas, in line with the company's priorities, mission and vision.

Your resposabilities:

• Reports into the Head of Medical Affairs BeNeLux and works also in close collaboration with the Medical Science Liaison, as well as marketing & sales peers in the organization
• Collaborates across the three business units: Ostomy Care, Continence Care & Bowel Management,
• Drives the scientific agenda in Belgium on
  • Trans Anal Irrigation to ensure wider acceptance of the therapy.
  • The reduction of Urinary Tract Infections to increase awareness and knowledge of reducing infections and increasing Quality of Life of our consumers.
  • Solutions and elevated services focusing on personalized Care for Ostomy Patients, and reducing the burden of leakage
• Participates in defining the strategy for products or services and business plans, in project mode, in collaboration with medical-, marketing-, sales- and market access teams.
• Creates and builds awareness and acceptance with Healthcare Professionals in the country on specific Coloplast Chronic Care therapies
• Drives initiatives to improve the standard of care for patients with intimate healthcare needs.
• Builds an engagement plan for KOLs based on clinical initiatives, partnerships and publications
• Provides scientific and medical support to healthcare professionals involved in the care pathway.
• Defines and implements training programs to provide high-quality scientific and medical information in a variety of formats (one-on-one, regional meetings, round tables, etc.).
• Participates in the development of scientific educational materials and Coloplast Professional's offering, due to thorough therapy knowledge and being the scientific reference point in the country.
• Keeps up to date of the latest scientific developments in the Chronic Care therapy areas, and critically analyses clinical study data so that it can be used both internally and externally
• Establish partnerships with regional/national KOLs to develop ambassadors and a network of experts, for initiation of Peer-to-Peer collaboration and scientific exchange
• Sees opportunities to drive and support local publications that are beneficial to the Coloplast priorities, mission and vision.
• Improves patient care pathway in hospitals and help healthcare professionals to further develop their expertise to educate patients.
• Reviews his/her actions regularly to communicate qualitative/quantitative results and develop corrective actions where necessary, and ensures daily reporting of healthcare professional interactions
• Participates in congresses and medical meetings, and where possible drives content
• Develops and runs national and regional advisory boards
• Runs national and local implementation of clinical trials.
• Drives development and adoption of national guidelines

Your profile:

• You have a passion for medical science and are willingly to share it;
• You love to go into detail, but you also know how to explain complex matters in a clear way;
• You get energy from daily live interactions and conversations with Healthcare Professionals in the field;
• You like to organize small meetings/scientific events and are not afraid to take the stage and moderate discussions or give presentations;
• You enjoy being the medical knowledge hub within our organization - colleagues turn to you for better and correct medical information;
• You share best practices and don’t refrain from using your skills towards your peers in other countries and your global colleagues
• MSc/BSc, Pharmacist, Biologist, Biomedical Scientist, Nurse Practitioner in (bio)medical field;
• Ability to build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and cultivate them over the long term
• Understanding business issues
• Teaching ability and excellent written and oral communication
• Collaborative spirit, ability to work as part of a team, and also remote/field based
• Project Management experience
• Experience with conducting clinical (scientific) research, medical communications, and preferably with medical devices;
• Medical Devices industry experience preferred;
• Fluent Flemish/Dutch, French and English – written and spoken;
