Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Coordinator

The Coordinator for the Reimbursement and Reconciliation departments will support the Director and Manager in managing team operations to ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards, state and local laws, accrediting agency guidelines, OSHA, Medicare/Medicaid, and private payor regulations. This role promotes adherence to corporate policies, practices, and compliance programs while enabling teams to meet production, quality, aging, and cash goals. The Team Lead will encourage increased production, be available for questions and additional coaching, and assist in the research and formulation of management reports detailing team performance and account metrics.

 

Major Areas of Accountability

 

Leadership:

  • Assist with training and onboard new team members on departmental functions and responsibilities, ensuring familiarity with equipment, routines, and standards.
  • Support the supervisor in monitoring team performance and adherence to departmental policies and procedures, including effective application of HIPAA and PHI regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining positive employee relations within the department, encouraging proficiency and helping team members reach their potential.
  • Provide exceptional service to patients, internal and external customers, and third-party payors, interacting professionally to promote effective communication.
  • Adapt to stressful situations and demonstrate multi-tasking capabilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Implement constructive changes that improve work processes and team performance.

Analysis:

  • Assist the team in the efficient analysis and resolution of unpaid claims and unposted cash deposits, monitoring productivity and reporting shifts to the supervisor to ensure team goals are met.
  • Generate daily and monthly reports that facilitate workflow metrics and audit processes for the department, distributing to designated staff.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies, tools, or system applications that enhance productivity.
  • Review departmental issues impacting the team's ability to process work, conducting quality
  • assurance reviews to ensure efficient methods are utilized.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Perform job responsibilities within established regulatory guidelines (HIPAA / PHI, Medicare/Medicaid, etc.) and report non-compliant activity to the appropriate parties, safeguarding patient and company confidentiality.
  • Maintain knowledge of all regulatory requirements by attending in-service classes and annual HIPAA updates.
  • In the absence of the Revenue Cycle Supervisor, assume responsibility for departmental issues.
  • Seek opportunities to improve and promote quality processes both within and outside of the department.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in healthcare payor and/or provider organizations with demonstrated functional knowledge in revenue cycle management and cash posting processes.
  • 3+ years of DME experience required.
  • Knowledge of governmental payors, medical terminology, regulatory compliance, billing codes, and understanding of EOBs/ERNs and compliance rules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully as both an individual and a team contributor.
  • Knowledge of Excel and understanding of PowerBI Apps.

  • Competitive Compensation: The starting hourly rate for this position is $30.74. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation for applicable experience and may also be eligible for bonuses and/or incentives.  Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
