Regional Account Manager - Managed Care Access 

Comfort Medical, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coloplast, has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Account Manager to join our growing team!


The Regional Account Manager,  Managed Care Access is responsible for executing strategies that will enable Comfort Medical and Coloplast to proactively engage with managed care payers and secure access for Comfort Medical services as a DME provider while leveraging the benefits of Coloplast product, service and digital offerings. Specifically, the Regional Account Manager,  Managed Care Access is responsible for expanding, maintaining and defending in-network payer contracts for Comfort Medical with regional managed care organisations. 


This position is field-based and must reside within reasonable distance to a major US airport.


Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Help develop and execute strategies to expand managed care access and preference of Comfort Medical and Coloplast to achieve revenue targets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with select managed care organizations, including but not limited to commercial, Managed Medicaid, Managed Medicare, etc.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with internal stakeholders and develop internal champions to support organizational requirements
  • Effectively engage with select payors to articulate unique economic value proposition and advantages of Coloplast and Comfort Medical products and services
  • Secure contracts for Comfort Medical and/or Coloplast, and develop proficiency in negotiation of value-based and/or risk-based contracts
  • Identify, develop and leverage relationships with key decision makers within assigned accounts
  • Maintain deep knowledge of managed care organizations and industry trends specifically related to health policy trends and DME providers
  • Leverage understanding of competitive DME suppliers’ landscape and industry trends
  • Develop working knowledge of Comfort Medical operations and service offerings; leverage industry understanding to effectively position Comfort Medical in negotiations with managed care organizations
  • Identify new opportunities to bring incremental value to Coloplast and Comfort medical that go beyond product coverage and covered lives
  • Other duties, as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or 10 years experience in Medical Device Sales
  • Proven track record of negotiating contracts
  • Strong competency of the US payor landscape and market drivers
  • 5+ years experience and progressively successful track record in medical device or related sales
  • Proven ability to effectively engage with managed care organizations
  • Proven ability to establish and foster stakeholder relationships
  • Position requires approximately 50% travel
  • Must reside within 30 mile proximity of a major US airport


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in healthcare administration
  • Strong competency and experience in selling the economic value of medical devices and service lines
  • 5+ years experience in the field of managed markets in medical devices/DME products
  • Proven ability to negotiate value-based contracts with managed care payors
